About Victorinox
Victorinox was founded in 1897 when cutler Karl Elsener developed the original Swiss Army knife for the Swiss military. The company is still headquartered in Ibach, in the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland, where it has manufactured knives since 1884, and remains family-run into its fourth generation. Alongside its famous multitools, Victorinox produces a full line of kitchen cutlery, watches, and travel gear.
The Fibrox Pro line was built for professional kitchens and has become a fixture in commercial and home kitchens alike. Its non-slip, pebbled Fibrox handle is molded from thermoplastic elastomer for grip even with wet or greasy hands, and the high-carbon stainless steel blade is easy to resharpen at home. America's Test Kitchen has named the Fibrox Pro 8" Chef's Knife its top chef's knife pick for close to three decades, citing its sharpness out of the box, comfortable grip for hands of all sizes, and durability at an accessible price.

Why we recognized Victorinox
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Victorinox earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.
Victorinox products we rated highly
Victorinox Fibrox Pro 8" Chef's Knife
In our testing this knife consistently held up against chef's knives costing three to four times as much, arriving razor-sharp and easy to bring back to that edge with a basic home sharpener. The non-slip Fibrox handle stayed secure through wet, greasy prep work, and the stamped blade kept the knife light and well-balanced through long sessions. Its high review volume on Amazon backs up what professional kitchens have known for years about this knife's durability.
