About Solo Stove
Solo Stove was started in 2011 by brothers Jeff and Spencer Jan as a small outdoor-gear company building lightweight, fuel-efficient wood stoves for backpackers. The double-wall, 304 stainless steel design behind those early camp stoves, built around a patented 360-degree airflow system that pulls in extra oxygen for a cleaner secondary burn, became the engineering base for the company's 2017 pivot into backyard fire pits. That single design principle now runs through the entire fire pit lineup, from the compact Ranger up to the group-sized Yukon.
The Bonfire line has been named a top pick by Wirecutter for its portability and easy storage, and Popular Mechanics rated the Bonfire among the best midsize smokeless fire pits in its own testing. Solo Brands, the parent company, took Solo Stove public in 2021 and is now headquartered in a 430,000-square-foot facility in Grapevine, Texas. In our own testing, the Bonfire 2.0's redesigned base plate and removable ash pan stood out as the easiest cleanup routine of any wood-burning fire pit we've reviewed.

Why we recognized Solo Stove
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Solo Stove earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.
Solo Stove products we rated highly
Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 with Stand
The double-wall airflow burns down to almost no smoke in normal wind, so guests can sit anywhere around it without shuffling their chairs to dodge a plume. The 304 stainless steel build is the standard the rest of the smokeless category gets measured against, and the 2.0 redesign's removable base plate and ash pan turn cleanup into dumping a tray rather than tipping a hot 20-pound bowl.

Solo Stove Ranger 2.0 with Stand
Sub-17-pound weight and an included carry case make this the grab-and-go option in the smokeless lineup, running the same double-wall burn as the Bonfire scaled down for a campsite or a tight patio. It puts out surprising heat for a 15-inch pit and slots into the same accessory system as the rest of the line.

Solo Stove Yukon 2.0
At 27 inches this is the largest true-smokeless Solo Stove, comfortably throwing heat to a circle of six or more on the same 304 stainless build and airflow technology as the Bonfire. The included stand keeps it stable and lifted off a patio or pad, and the larger fuel capacity means longer burns without constantly feeding logs.
