About WORX
WORX is a brand of the Positec Tool Corporation, founded by Don Gao in 1994 in Suzhou, China. Positec spent its early years as an OEM manufacturer of hand and power tools for established brands like Sears and Black & Decker before Gao steered the company toward its own branded products, launching the WORX line of lawn and garden equipment in 2004. The brand's North American division is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and its tools are sold at Lowe's, The Home Depot, Walmart, and Costco. WORX built its cordless lineup around the PowerShare 20V lithium-ion battery platform, a single battery system shared across more than 140 tools spanning trimmers, blowers, saws, and workbenches.
Consumer Reports has independently reviewed WORX products, including the convertible AeroCart yard cart. In April 2026, Bain Capital announced an investment in Positec Group to support the company's next phase of global growth, product innovation, and expansion into electrification and robotics, a vote of confidence in a company that already employs more than 4,000 people across nearly 70 countries. WORX is also known for distinctive engineering choices in its category, like the partially enclosed blade on the JawSaw chainsaw and the fold-flat design of the Pegasus work table. In our own testing, the products we've reviewed are backed by unusually large verified review samples, tens of thousands of reviews apiece, giving a long real-world track record to weigh against newer competitors.

Why we recognized WORX
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. WORX earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.
WORX products we rated highly
Worx Pegasus 2-in-1 Folding Work Table & Sawhorse WX051
Switches from a 31-by-25-inch flat work table to a pair of sawhorses in under five seconds, covering the two things a garage bench gets asked to do most often. It carries a 1,000-pound load rating in sawhorse mode and 300 pounds in table mode, folds to roughly 4 inches thick, and weighs just 30 pounds so it hangs on a wall hook when the floor needs to come back. More than 14,000 Amazon reviews at a 4.8-star average make it the most-reviewed workbench in our roundup.
