About Green Gobbler
Green Gobbler was founded in 2008 in Gurnee, Illinois, with a goal of building a bleach-free alternative to the caustic drain chemicals that dominated the category. The brand started by selling to professional maintenance customers servicing commercial buildings, then expanded into retail once that formula proved itself, and its products have been carried at Home Depot for more than 15 years alongside listings at Walmart, Kroger, and H-E-B.
The company is now part of PurposeBuilt Brands, the cleaning-products family that also makes Goo Gone and Weiman, and PurposeBuilt Brands received the EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year recognition in 2020. Green Gobbler's own catalog has grown well past drains: it now covers septic maintenance, outdoor mold and mildew cleaners, weed control, and snow and ice melt, all built around the same bleach-free, biodegradable positioning the brand started with in 2008.

Why we recognized Green Gobbler
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Green Gobbler earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.
Green Gobbler products we rated highly
Green Gobbler Ultra Concentrated Drain Clog Remover & Cleaner
One bottle covers sinks, showers, tubs, toilets, and septic systems in our testing, with a dose that scales from a capful for a slow drain to the full bottle for a bad one. The bleach-free alkaline formula skips the chlorine fumes of harsher gels, and it ships with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Green Gobbler Toilet Clog Remover (128 oz)
One of the few cleaners in our reviews actually formulated for toilets, at a category where most drain gels warn users away from toilet use entirely. It dissolves toilet paper, wipes, hair, and organic matter, and its non-corrosive, bleach-free formula is gentler on a toilet's trap and seals.
