About Heirloom Traditions
Heirloom Traditions Paint was founded in 2013 in Paula Blankenship's kitchen in Taylorsville, Kentucky, after Blankenship — then a commercial interior designer with a background in her family's furniture retail business — developed her own no-prep paint formula to revamp unloved furniture pieces around her home. What started as pints sold on eBay, packed with help from her teenage son, grew into a women-owned, employee-owned manufacturer that passed $18 million in annual sales by 2020. In 2024, the company expanded its manufacturing base by acquiring Kelley Technical Coatings, now operating as CamCoat, adding pool, deck, safety, and architectural coatings to its portfolio.
The company's signature ALL-IN-ONE Paint builds primer and topcoat into a single formula designed to skip sanding and stripping, applied across wood, metal, glass, ceramic, tile, vinyl, laminate, and even fabric. Founder Paula Blankenship has been profiled twice by Forbes as "The Queen of Paint" (2019 and 2021), and Heirloom Traditions has repeatedly made PCI Magazine's PCI 25 list of top coatings companies, including an Honorable Mention in 2026. Products are made in America at the company's Kentucky facility, ship in recycled plastic cans, and the brand markets itself as a certified women-owned business.

Why we recognized Heirloom Traditions
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products independently earn top-pick status in our hands-on category reviews. Heirloom Traditions earned it because its products came out on top in 1 DIYRated guide — evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.
Heirloom Traditions products we feature
Heirloom Traditions ALL-IN-ONE Paint, Truffle, 1 Gallon
Built-in primer and topcoat stick to wood, metal, glass, ceramic, tile, vinyl, and even fabric with no sanding, and the same gallon works on interior and exterior pieces. With over 12,300 Amazon reviews at a 4.4-star average, it's the most-validated furniture and cabinet specialty paint we tested — the self-leveling velvet sheen reads closer to a satin finish than the flat dryness of cheaper chalk paints.
