About Keter
Keter got its start in 1948 as a small resin workshop in Jaffa, Israel, making combs, toys, and basic housewares. Over more than seven decades it grew into one of the world's largest makers of resin-based outdoor and workshop products, now operating 16 manufacturing plants across Israel, the United States, Canada, and Luxembourg, with products sold in more than 100 countries. The current lineup spans storage sheds, deck boxes, outdoor furniture, raised garden beds, storage cabinets and shelving, and folding workbenches and tool storage for the garage and jobsite.
Keter's product design has drawn repeat third-party recognition, including multiple Red Dot Design Awards (2010, 2011, and 2013) and an ID Annual Design Review honor. The company has also put real numbers behind its sustainability claims: it reported just over 41 percent recycled content across its resin products in 2023, with a stated goal of 80 percent by 2028, and says 99.9 percent of its products are fully recyclable. On the workshop side, Bob Vila's independent portable-workbench roundup separately recognized the Keter Heavy-Duty Folding Workbench as a top heavy-duty pick in its category.

Why we recognized Keter
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Keter earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.
Keter products we rated highly
Keter Heavy-Duty Folding Workbench with 1,000 Pound Capacity
Rated for 1,000 pounds of capacity on an aluminum leg structure that is genuinely overbuilt for a folding bench at this price point, with a polypropylene top that resists moisture, oil, and most solvents — the only bench in our workbench roundup we're comfortable leaving on a covered patio. It folds briefcase-flat with an integrated carrying handle, so one person can move it from a truck to a second-floor job site, and its built-in clamping cleats and bench-dog holes work with standard three-quarter-inch round dogs for real woodworking use, not just tool storage. Bob Vila's independent portable-workbench roundup separately recognized it as a top heavy-duty pick, and it holds a 4.7-star average across roughly 12,900 reviews in our own testing.
