About Metabo HPT
Metabo HPT traces back to 1948 as Hitachi Koki, the Japanese manufacturer that introduced one of the industry's first cordless drills in 1979. After Hitachi Koki acquired the German manufacturer Metabo AG in 2016, the investment firm KKR partnered to spin the power tool business out as Koki Holdings in 2017, and in 2018 the North American brand was renamed Metabo HPT. Today the company operates as Koki Holdings America, selling more than 1,000 power tool models across corded, cordless, and pneumatic categories.
Metabo HPT's cordless lineup runs on a shared 18V/36V MultiVolt battery platform, and the company backs its driver drills, hammer drills, impact drivers, and track saws with a lifetime tool warranty, plus a 2-year battery warranty and a 1-year charger warranty with no registration required. Independent trade publications Pro Tool Reviews and Tool Box Buzz have both put the MultiVolt line through hands-on testing and highlighted its all-metal gear construction and pro-grade durability. In our own testing across two DIYRated roundups, the Metabo HPT DS18DEX drill and C10FCG2 miter saw each held ratings of 4.5 stars or better.

Why we recognized Metabo HPT
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Metabo HPT products we rated highly
Metabo HPT DS18DEX 18V MultiVolt Brushless Driver Drill Kit
The DS18DEX carries the highest torque figure in our cordless drill roundup at 620 in-lbs, delivered in a 2.6 lb body lighter than most drills producing half as much. Reactive Force Control senses tool overload and stops rotation before the drill can twist out of your hands in a bind, and it ships with two 2.0Ah batteries on the 18V/36V MultiVolt platform along with Metabo HPT's lifetime tool warranty, the most comprehensive coverage we found among the drills we tested.

Metabo HPT C10FCG2 10-Inch Single Bevel Compound Miter Saw
At just 24 pounds, the C10FCG2 is the lightest saw in our miter saw roundup to carry and set up anywhere. Its Xact Cut LED shadow-line system projects a zero-calibration cut guide directly onto the workpiece, and it ships with a 40-tooth TCT blade that cuts cleanly on softwood and composite trim out of the box. Backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty, it held 4.6 stars across 627 reviews in our testing.
