About Midea
Midea is a Chinese multinational appliance manufacturer founded in 1968 in Foshan, Guangdong province, by He Xiangjian. What began as a small workshop making bottle caps grew into one of the world's largest home appliance makers, with products now sold in more than 200 countries and regions. The company's US arm, Midea America, is headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey, and operates a dedicated research and development facility, the Midea America Research Center, in Louisville, Kentucky, opened in 2016 to develop products for the US market.
In our own testing across dehumidifiers, dishwashers, washers and all-in-one laundry combos, Midea's lineup spans from affordably priced entry machines to feature-rich smart models with WiFi control and multi-year motor warranties. Its Cube-series dehumidifier design, built around a fold-flat body and an oversized tank, has drawn outside recognition as a top small-dehumidifier pick from Wirecutter's testing team, and its 22-Pint dehumidifier and 18-inch slim dishwasher each carry review bases in the thousands and low hundreds respectively, among the deepest we found anywhere in their categories.

Why we recognized Midea
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Midea earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.

It pairs WiFi, Alexa and Google Home control with 20-pint extraction, and has drawn outside recognition as a top small-dehumidifier pick from Wirecutter's testing team. Midea MLTW44A4BWW 4.4 cu. ft. Top Load Washer with Power Wave Agitator
Pairs a traditional center-post agitator with Midea's Power Wave pattern at the tub base for more aggressive water movement through the load, plus Smart Control connectivity for remote start and cycle selection, uncommon on an agitator machine. The Dual-Phase Dispenser meters detergent at the right point in the cycle instead of dumping it all at once, which cuts the residue buildup that overdosing causes. It has a stainless steel tub and 4.4 cu. ft. capacity sized for a three- to four-person household.

Midea MLTW41A1BMG 4.1 cu. ft. Top Load Washer (Gray)
Load Sensing reads the wash volume and sets the water level automatically rather than filling to a fixed line every cycle. The Power Boost Agitator pairs enhanced agitation with anti-vibration damping, and a dedicated Tub Clean cycle is built in to prevent the film and odor buildup that shortens a washer's usable life. It offers eight pre-set cycles plus High Water and Add Garment options in a genuine full-size 4.1 cu. ft. drum.
