About Wagner SprayTech
Wagner SprayTech is a Plymouth, Minnesota manufacturer with more than 50 years in the paint and finishing equipment business. The company is organized around three divisions, Home Finishing for homeowners and DIYers, Professional Finishing (which produces Titan-branded equipment), and Wagner Industrial Solutions for powder and liquid coating lines, and its consumer catalog spans HVLP and airless paint and stain sprayers, surface-prep tools, steamers, and FURNO-branded heat guns. Wagner is owned by two charitable foundations, and in 2020 the company added what it describes as the largest rooftop solar installation in Minnesota, roughly 3,700 panels across its Plymouth facility.
In our own testing for this site, the Wagner Control Spray Max HVLP Sprayer earned its place as one of our reviewed paint sprayers by solving a problem most HVLP units do not: keeping the heavy turbine off your hand. Its 20-foot hose lets the base sit on the floor while you work trim, doors, cabinets, and furniture, and the two included cups, a 1.5-quart plastic cup and a 1-quart metal cup, cover water-based latex and solvent-based stains without cross-contaminating the equipment. It holds a 4.3-star rating across roughly 4,000 verified reviews on the same listing we link to.

Why we recognized Wagner SprayTech
The DIYRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Wagner SprayTech earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, put to work on real jobs, and judged on merit.
Wagner SprayTech products we rated highly
Wagner Control Spray Max HVLP Sprayer
A hose-fed HVLP turbine that keeps its 11-pound base on the floor while a 20-foot hose reaches the gun, cutting the hand and shoulder fatigue that handheld HVLP units cause over a full afternoon of trim or furniture work. The two included cups, 1.5-quart plastic for latex and 1-quart metal for stains and lacquers, cover both material types without swapping equipment mid-project. In our reviews it produced noticeably less overspray than airless units on indoor work, and it holds a 4.3-star rating across roughly 4,000 reviews.
